Class of 2011 Arrives on Campus Sunday, Aug. 19

Carnegie Mellon University: "Carnegie Mellon will welcome 1,436 first-year students to campus on Sunday, Aug. 19 for Orientation 2007. First-year students will move into their campus housing beginning at 9 a.m. with the help of families, friends, and Carnegie Mellon staff and students. This year's orientation, 'In Your Element,' will introduce incoming students to Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh and each other through a weeklong series of events on and off campus. Events include welcomes from President Jared L. Cohon and Dean of Student Affairs Jennifer Church; Playfair, an icebreaker for the entire class in Gesling Stadium; Convocation, an event signifying the start of first-year students' academic careers; and House Wars, a series of physical and intellectual games and challenges.
