New Rosco Products Launched At USITT
Live Design: "Rosco is pleased to announce the launch of two new products at the recent USITT show in Phoenix: the LitePad and Delta Hazer."
I am less interested in the hazer than the LightPad, but both sound interesting. The LightPad is - well it looks crazy, just this little rectangular prism of light. Very cool, but I don't see what uses it has. It seems like it would be a dim light, but maybe I'm wrong. Looking at Rosco's website, it seems like it is just for small things, where a larger, hotter fixture would not fit. It says it can be used for "Add light behind windows and doors," "as the source on the front of a TV or computer monitor, even for special effects like glowing props," to "Gently illuminate hazardous areas," "Orchestra lighting," and that they are "Small soft sources provide additional light and can be mounted into virtually any nook on set." This seems handy, though I assume the price is more than its worth at the moment. I'll be interested to see how they are actually used.
