Haha. I definitely found this article quite amusing. I definitely agree though, that these things can be detrimental to your creativity. I've had issues myself with being afraid, thinking of failures in the past, staying busy, and sticking to what I know. Now I don't always have these issues, but I know if I'm struggling, it's because of this. Now instead of doing these things - be fearless - TRY NEW THINGS. That's what being creative is all about. Trying something just for the sake of trying it. You learn what works and what doesn't, but never stick to this. What worked in one situation may not work in another and vice versa. Also - staying busy. You need time to think of ideas. Whether I'm keeping myself busy with something else or trying too hard to be creative, it just doesn't work. The best ideas come when you're not even trying. While your just reflecting or something like that. If you don't give yourself that time, you'll never be creative - at least not your your best.

I guess this is supposed to be funny? I don't know, but I read it with much amusement. These things are all true, but really what was the point of the article...to show you how you are stifling your own creativity? To show that it's a good thing...or a bad thing? That was just really confusing to me. Plus I just don't know if I could survive without asking my "stupid questions" haha.

Haha, I'm glad they chose to write it in the manner of how to lose your creativity rather then how to be creative! On another note, I do agree that after sifting through the humor what is being said it actually very good advice. I think the first one really boils down the rest of them. In the end, being creative is not being afraid of anything - of not fitting in, of failing, or whatever.

Sometimes I have problems getting over the fear part. =/ But that's what I'm in school for. ;-) On the other hand... some people are too unafraid and make some really awful things. o_O Sometime I wonder how people came to be proffesional.

HAHAHAHAHAHA....So TRUE! I always approach the project at least at the beginning with no restraints or restrictions. I write down as many ideas as I can. They may end up all crap, but it has me thinking. The one about wasting timeis so right, I have to waste time just thinking or on the internet to allow an idea to come. I really trying to improve on being more fearless and using mediums I don't normally use.
