Break Bad Habits by Substituting Good Ones

lifehack.org: "If you have a bad habit you want to break, instead of just taking that part of your life away, leaving an ‘empty’ space, you could substitute it with a good habit."

I think this article simplifies the idea of habit-breaking way to much. It isn't that easy. When something is so built into your system that you don't even realize you are doing it, it will take a lot more than a substitute in order to get past it. I think this article needs to specify more problems than drinking and should give more examples of replacements. Who says the first idea will work? You always should have a back up.
