Stage Review: G&S 'Sorcerer' charms but doesn't dazzle
Post Gazette: "The third of the 14 comic operas by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, 'The Sorcerer, or The Elixir of Love' (1877) was the lull before the storm. Coming just after the exquisite one-act 'Trial by Jury,' it was followed by 'H.M.S. Pinafore,' which unleashed the hurricane of G&S popularity."
