Prophetic 'Fahrenheit 451' in lineup

MiamiHerald.com: "Whatever his process, Bradbury -- in 1953, no less -- turned out an enduring, important tale with numerous elements that have become (for better or worse) part of life in contemporary America. Fahrenheit 451 has also been a musical, a movie and a chilling play. It's that stage version, augmented (with Bradbury's OK) by dialogue straight from the novel, that will open the season at GableStage on Saturday."

Fahrenheit 451 is a favorite of mine, and I believe that both in its book and play form the story is relevant as more than an English class assignment. It’s a story of censorship and mans search for the truth. In a time when the world is concerned with being politically correct, one should take a lesson from the work of Bradbury and realize that to grow and expand as people we may need to rustle a few feathers

Ray Bradury's work has always been humorous as well as poignant. After ahaving seen the movie, I would be interested to see the play. There would be certain aspects of it that would have been difficult to do 50 years ago, such as the walls of televisions which can now be achieved with projections. It should be interesting.
