I wonder how well these events go over in cities like Chicago and San Fransisco. I have been told on many occasions by several people that these a very "non-equity" cities. I am sure that AEA has a tough time getting people to join in these areas, and wonder how actors and stage managers in these places deal with the lack of work, if it really is a non-equity city. Do they just not live there?
I think that it is interesting that AEA has to hold an event like this at all. I had always kind of assumed that of course people know all about Equity. On the other hand - I am an actor, and I don't really know much about the program. I agree with Joel's posting - I am curious how a "non-equity" city operates. I have also been told that jsut because you are an Equity member doesn't mean you have to only do Equity work. Is it true that you can work non-Equity?
