Buried Child
New York Times: "WHEN Darren Fudenske steps onto a downtown Manhattan stage as Tilden in Sam Shepard’s “Buried Child,” he also walks into a complex debate. Tall and sturdy with a boyish face, he appears to be a reasonable choice for the role of a hulking man-child who returns to his parents’ house because he cannot seem to care for himself. Mr. Fudenske, 33, is young for the part, but his Tilden looks a lot like any other. When he begins to speak, though, and it is apparent that he is deaf, the production turns this 1979 Pulitzer Prize-winning play into something new."
