An afternoon at the opera

Chicago Tribune: "The Lyric is the only major American opera company that offers weekday matinee series (performances begin at 2 p.m). They started in 1999, and, despite the decrease in opera audiences around the country, added another series in 2002, with little effect on the nighttime audience."
