Arduino on Arduino battle ends in reconciliation, merger

Ars Technica: On Saturday, the two rival groups—Arduino LLC (Arduino.cc) and Arduino Srl (Arduino.org)—announced that they had "settled their differences," and agreed to merge. At present, the similarly-designed sites both carry the official Arduino logo, and both sell official Arduino products.

Seems like a logical idea to merge these two companies. I have used Arduino in the past and used products from both companies and never knew that they weren’t affiliated. It seems crazy that two companies that rely on each other so much for their product sales could ever want to screw each other over. My only argument about this article is that Arduino will continue to come out with revolutionary products. I don’t think I’ve seen a major change or improvement since they incorporated Bluetooth into their products. At the end of the day I’m glad to see the problem has been resolved and they are back on both feet but I can’t help but ask if any of it needed to happen. It seems like the conflict was purely based on not getting credit for the idea. Although it would be nice to be one of the founders is it really worth the time to try and take down a company that is probably paying you a pretty penny?
