Breaking Character: We don’t know about you, but we’ve been looking forward to this weekend for well over a year.

After all, a three-day event sizzling with Broadway stars, stellar playwrights, a ton of workshops, and (what we can only hope are) fans in show-stopping costumes? Count us in. Add in the impending snowstorm, and this weekend just got even more exciting.

I really can't wait to see how this plays out. I think it's a fantastic idea, and quite surprising that it hasn't already been done. I'll be very interested to see what everyone thinks from all perspectives. Will the media think it's a total nightmare not really worth covering (ala VidCon and PlayList live)? Will the fans be upset with the difficulty of stuffing thousands of people into a hotel in midtown? Will the stars, who have likely never done autographs for hours straight, end up cranky and not return? Come to think of it, this is another Broadway turning point, in a way, that puts a lot of the public perception of theatre on the line. I'm really hoping they just really have the right event managers out there coordinating this in the best way possible. Of course, they'll continue to learn what to do as they continue each year, but this first year is incredibly important.
