Sting's Musical 'The Last Ship' Finds a Home and a Cast

NYTimes.com: Casting and a Broadway theater were announced on Wednesday for “The Last Ship,” the new show with music and lyrics by the Grammy Award-winning singer Sting and a book by the Tony Award-winning author John Logan (“Red”) and the Putlizer Prize winner Brian Yorkey (“Next to Normal”).

This actually looks kind of interesting. It is so hard to find places on Broadway now because there are so many long running shows. It is fascinating that they have such a small design team. I would have thought that for a professional show they would have a full design staff, and it was really only resident theatres that had a staff where a single person did multiple jobs. The one guy, David Zinn is doing both set and costume design. I mean, that's a lot of work for one guy even if he is just designing and not actually building any of the pieces. Huzzah for them getting a theatre and an opening date. I wish them the best.
