For once I'm sad that I'm not going to be home! Connecticut seems to have been coming into greater prominence within the theatrical community as of late, and its pretty exciting for me to see growing before my eyes.
The nature of this event seems to be a small-scale LDI, in which vendors get to show off their newest wares, designers and programmers can attend lectures by the bigs in the business, and students can network with everyone and anyone at the conference. If I intended on working in the tri-state area, I would definitely put this on my list, as it seems as though a great deal of rental houses and local distributors will be present.
First, I would like to say that I love that Kael and I are looking at the same articles.
Livig in New York City I was fortunate to both work and go to events like these a few times. My favorite was being able to attend Super Saturday which happens every spring and consists of tons of manufacturers and companies displaying their latest equipment, in the same sort of style as this event in CT. I loved that it was on such a large scale because if not, it is hard to keep people's interest for an entire day.
I loved seeing the new equipment from Rosco, Phillips, ETC, and all of the companies on the forefront of EVERYTHING COOL. The more of these exhibitions there are the more advanced our theatre world can become.
