Trapped student rescued in Oakland

Post Gazette: "An 18-year-old college student took a rooftop stroll through Oakland in the early hours of yesterday morning and became trapped for hours after he fell 20 feet into a gap between two buildings along Forbes Avenue."

This is a perfect example of something coming back to bite you in the butt. This kid was goofing around and doing something he shouldn't have and ended up getting stuck because of it. Now most likely, unless he can come up with a really good story, he is going to have charges filed against him.

Wow. First the headline sounded interesting, trapped? And then hearing he fell in-between two buildings?? Then I was completely intrigued. Now, someone being on a roof isn't that much of a shock to me, I do stupid things like that all the time, but as I read the article (which just seemed weirder and weirder as I kept reading) is that he said he fell in a ditch? Really? How did he not realize that he had fallen between two buildings? I suppose he must have been drunk or otherwise not in a right state of mind, but not realizing even remotely where you are seems so absurd. What a weird and stupid kid. Besides if you're going to climb on a roof, pick something more interesting than Rite-Aid....

"OMG...DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE GUY THAT FELL OFF OF RITE AID?"
Wow, talk about an amusing article. This may have been the funniest ones I have ever read. Not to say that I don't feel slightly bad for the guy....but that percentage of pity is shrinking quite rapidly. And to top an already comical situation, to have your cell die during the call? Leaving police to search for you around Oakland? The next thing you know, you're also naked with some foreign object stuck in a place you just don't want it.
Poor guy, good luck living this one down...
