First things first, why has it taken this long to get a theatrical hall of fame going? We can get something going for the football payers (although, with all that brain damage, you gotta convince 'em it's been worth it somehow #sorrynotsorry)and white appropriation of African- American music (I'm talking to you, rock'n roll hall of fame). Hell, with all the ways that Americans find to congratulate themselves on momentous (and otherwise) occasions, you'd think that a performance arts hall of fame with a concentration in the realm of live theatrical performance is long overdue.
That, however, is only part of the reason I'm so glad to hear about this ground-breaking event. The other part, and I'm going to say this with no shame, because I work too hard to be modest at this point, is because of the sheer number of CMU alums that will surely be represented in the halls of this new establishment. Any chance to plug the incredible work done here at CMU is a chance I'm ready to take full advantage of, because. as I said before, we all work too hard to be modest.
