Harvard Professor Writes Op-Ed in Support of ‘Finding Neverland’
Variety: A Harvard University professor has written an op-ed letter in support of Broadway musical “Finding Neverland.” The show lays out an academic context not only for the Peter Pan backstory related in the musical, but also for the enduring appeal of the Peter Pan story itself.

When I saw Finding Neverland in June of last year, I was absolutely awestruck. I have never been so floored by a performance in my entire life. There were moments in the performance that I just sat and stared at the stage, my heart swollen, trying to think of something more beautiful than what I was looking at. I cried when nothing sad was happening. I smiled when no one said anything funny. It was an absolutely incredible piece of theatre. Diane Paulus is probably one of the most amazing theatre directors alive today, and I am so glad to see that she is getting at least a little bit fo recognition for her work. I think Peter Pan, too, is just something that children and adults will always love, and so Finding Neverland itself embodies this idea. It is about children and adults coming together and having fun and loving the youth inside of them. I sincerely hope this musical runs for as long as possible, because nothing made me happier than feeling like a child at the A.R.T. last summer.
