Children's theater is based upon the notion that kids will like shows that are written, designed, executed, formatted for them, because that's true! Many theatre companies struggle with bringing in audiences, which is funny because the answer is right there. If you want someone to come see a show at your theatre, make a show for them! Erth's Dinosaur Zoo is created for a target audience, and kids will love it because people are so careful about making content for children that they're generally right. If theatres adopt this model and apply it to their approach and productions, they will start bringing in the audience sections that they never quite managed to drag into their seats!
