Apr. ’14: Five Red Flags to Avoid on Your IRS Return
Signshop: It is no secret that one of the biggest fears that people have is receiving an audit notice from the IRS. It ranks right up there with being diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Of course, the IRS does nothing to alleviate this fear because the more frightened you are, the less likely you will be to cheat on your taxes.

This is certainly an interesting article to say the least. I think its almost a bit comical that so many people are terrified of being audited. Not sure if that many people really try to lie on their taxes or really believe they may have made a major mistake. If it is the latter, I imagine there must be a way to correct it and make things right. The article pointed out some things I had no idea would be a red flag for an audit. Interestingly enough, it seemed that all the red flags are things I have heard people recommend they do.
This article certainly covers a lot of good points and things to think about, even if you are using online tax prep software, especially since the deadline is only a few days away. That being said, I don't how many of us this article affects since we are all undergraduate and graduate college students who probably don't have any of the things listed in the article, so we don't have much to report. The statistics for who is audited it interesting to know and file away for later
