All That Glitters
Stage Directions: Nothing gives your show’s look the old razzle-dazzle like a nice shiny set of metallic drapery. Working with metallics, however, can be tricky. You want to make sure that drapes made of materials like mirrorlam or metal boucle don’t clash visually with the look of either your overall set or your house design. Certain old school lame curtains can actually cut your actors during entrances and exits. And if a metallic drape isn’t something you want to make a permanent part of your house drapery, you’d be wise to select a model that’s especially lightweight, easy to install and easy to strike.
