The Denver Center Theater Company (LORT B), a division
of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, is accepting applicants for the
position of Director of Production. Responsible for the leadership,
management and oversight of all Production areas including the Lighting, Sound,
Costume, Props, Scenery, Multimedia, and Stage Management departments.
Under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Kent Thompson, DCTC
produces 10-12 productions, 5-6 readings/workshops, and a series of limited
run programming in its experimental space annually on four stages.
Primary skills include:

Support of Artistic Vision and Goals: work with
the Producing Artistic Director, Managing Director, Production Departments
Heads, directors and designers to ensure that each production achieves its
goals in production values.

Realization of designs: Work with the Producing
Artistic Director or Associate Artistic Director to select designers for
creative teams, hire and communicate with each designer throughout the
production process including design conferences, review of preliminary designs
to determine cost and feasibility, realize the creative team’s vision for each
show with resources available; prepare show-specific
budgets based on designs and within available financial and human
resources. Manage the production process from build through closing of
each show.

Budget management: Manage budgets with
department heads. Create production budgets annually for approval of Managing
Director and Producing Artistic Director, or their designates; maintain budgets
as approved ; report budget variances quarterly or as required; ensure all
costs remain within budget parameters.

Leadership of Production Team: hire, manage,
direct and supervise Production Department Heads and employees of the
Production Department.
Requirements include: Must have proven experience as
a leader, including successful change management. Excellent collaborative
communication skills required. Previous experience working with leading
directors and designers in achieving their vision of the production.
Previous experience working in theatres with multiple venues. Previous
experience with union regulations including participating in negotiation of
contracts. Ten years of theatre production management in operations of
similar size and scope required. Bachelor’s degree in related field
required. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft products including Word and
Excel required.
