A Cool Solution for Traveling Tools (& Tool Chest Alternative)
www.popularwoodworking.com: I’ve long been looking for the perfect rug for my dining room (which may become my shop if I can’t soon find the perfect house in my price range, but that’s a story for another day), so I regularly troll a local online auction site, on which I can’t seem to keep from looking at things I don’t need, too (you never know…).

I have always struggled to find a good way to travel with tools; with airlines' absurd policies, it is impossible to carry on even a small multitool and I am loathe to check such things, as I am paranoid (with good reason) that the airline companies will lose my baggage and I will be out a pretty penny in my favorite tools. However, I have definitely also had a lot of trouble figuring out the best way to carry them around without taking up too much space or threatening to fall from their containers as I precariously balance way too many bags, and this briefcase with pockets thing is very similar to what I have settled on as of now. I am still, and always will be, looking for improvement.
I think that this is neat. It's not entirely practical for my needs, but I think that it's a cool a idea. I suppose that it could have some upsides when compared to a toolbag or a standard toolbox. I'm a fan of up-cycling (I recently just turned an old toolbox in a planter box), and it certainly seems like it has some aesthetic value and isn't quite as obvious as the aforementioned options.
