The ALLIANCE THEATRE is seeking an experienced TD with excellent
managerial and technical skills to produce scenic elements in a timely and cost
effective manner. Must have experience in advanced carpentry, metal working,
welding, automation, rigging, CAD drafting, budgeting, cost analysis.
Must have a valid drivers license and ability to lift 50 pounds on a consistent
basis. Position to begin as soon as feasible. Full time position

This actually would be an interesting position for me to explore if I were to be getting out of here sooner. Looking at the full job description it seems to be a pretty standard TD position. I like the fact that there is a dedicated stage operations manager and an ATD but there is a major red flag for me. The clause assisting in lifting, loading and unloading of scenery makes me concerned that there will be more hands on work during load in and load out than I would like. There is also the automation program creative conners which seems to be a very prevalent thing in regional theatre.
