I first want to say that the Pittsburgh Biennial is such a great example of this city really taking an invested interest in its artists/art in general. Pittsburgh supports the arts and provides opportunities for local artists unlike any other city I have been in. There was one point that stuck with me from this show. I was not particularly a fan of one exhibit- it was about the Olympics, and where they had historically been held, and how it should be brought to Pittsburgh.... I'm not sure completely what it was trying to say, because it featured an enormous amount of text and I became unmotivated and stopped caring. It illustrated an interesting point in art, I think, that you need to make your intended message readily accessible to your audience, or prepare to be met with general apathy/few real connections to your art. This also applies to theater in the same way.
