CMU SuperStars

Carnegie Mellon University: "In 'Campus SuperStars,' a solo singing competition modeled after the hit television show “American Idol,” Hassert, a junior voice performance major, and Carrey-Beaver, a sophomore drama student, took two of the top three spots last night (April 3) before a packed house at Carnegie Music Hall.

I am so proud of the CMU students who were able to do so well! I also feel pride that we won last year as well. Before the final cometetion I drove by an avertisement for the Campus SUperstar and it had all of the finalists and I could not help but notice that CMU students were the majority with a smattering of Pitt and Point Park. It makes me wonder if we are just in an upswing or if CMU will continue this tradition for years to come. I hope that CMU continues to grow and flourish in this competition.

This was a great show! You could definitely see the difference in performers between the schools. CMU did a great job all around and it was amazing to have so many CMU students represented! Gillian and Jesse had great performances and to know that CFA has such talented performers is reassuring. Since the winner was voted on by audience member, it was good to see many CMU students in the audience supporting their friends.
