AutoCAD goes Mobile!
Lynn Allen's Blog: "If you work in a fairly large company, you probably have a distributed workforce. Your day might start with a call to your team in Europe, and end with a meeting with another team in China. Or, if you’re all on one continent, you might have a design team in New York leading a project being built in LA. You get the picture.

This is pretty cool. It's good to see that AutoCAD is working to keep up with the advance of technology. Mobile support and cloud computing are really gaining momentum in the tech industry, and for good reason. It makes it a whole lot easier to keep everyone on the same page, and it reduces the need for specialized software and souped-up computers. This is a great way to view and work with CAD documents, and I expect that it will be popular.
AutoCAD WS looks generally useful, but I'm not sold on using it in a mobile client; what edits would a serious AutoCAD user actually do here? It's clear that the software works well with apple's multitouch from AutoCAD for the mac, but I can't imagine using it with the keyboard on the iPhone or iPad even after watching the example videos. Also, another powerful way of letting several users work on a single project is through inserting xrefs in within a DWG...
It seems lately that AutoCAD is really advancing their technology to fit all their clients. This app seems like it would help with different teams members traveling or even with the late night question someone has. I'm also surprised that this app is free. I think this will help people start using this feature.
I'm glad that AutoCad is expanding their client base and im really glad i can use it on my mac, but, like Daniel, i'm not sold on it. It seems like it would be harder to try and make edits on an iphone rather than just using a computer.
