Alberta lost Superman shoot over military equipment: Culture Minister Lindsay Blackett
Calgary Hearald: "Alberta’s lack of aircraft carriers, jets and attack helicopters has Superman flying back to the Windy City. Producers of Superman: Man of Steel, the $200-million reboot directed by Zack Snyder, had apparently narrowed down the location for a unit shoot to two choices, but have opted to bring the production to Chicago instead of Alberta. The reason? The U.S. could provide military equipment that Alberta couldn’t, says the minister of culture Lindsay Blackett.

I have never heard of a movie going somewhere just because of there military equipment and the access they would have to this equipment. I wonder if Alberta could have got the movie if they got the things that they where looking for or is it a thing that they can look at and use as an easy way out. I feel that there is some other reason why they did not go to Alberta, may be the look of city is not what they are looking for to shoot of movie. I know that they are going to look in to why this big movie passed them up; I hope that they find the real root to the problem. It will be interesting to see how the superman movie comes out.
