AFTRA Opposing Talent Agent Deregulation in Florida
Backstage: "Talent agents are regulated in California, New York, and a number of other states – but in an unusual move, Florida is proposing to deregulate the profession. AFTRA is saying no.

I completely agree with AFTRA, it is "a move in the wrong direction" as more talent and bigger and bigger money goes into entertainment. A deregulation will affect a number of large venues (and think amusement parks here)and hurt both the talent and most likely the employers as well. This will put more money in the middle man's pocket and less where it belongs. Agents do, of course have to cover their own needs, but their work demands that artists' needs are placed of equal value.
