Water Tower theater to become new Broadway Playhouse

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Hedy Weiss: "Those giant crystal chandeliers so beloved by the late theater producer Tony DeSantis will soon be coming down. New doors will be punched into a flat lobby wall to create a more welcoming street level connection between the Water Tower shopping mall and what until recently was the Drury Lane Theatre at Water Tower Place. And Broadway in Chicago, the new leaseholder for the intimate 549-seat theater at 175 E. Chestnut, says the theater will be renamed the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place, with plans already in place to fill the venue with a mix of programming that should keep this stage in the heart of the Magnificent Mile lit up on a far more regular basis."
