Tony Winner O'Hare's 'An Iliad' Begins in Seattle; Altwies Stars

Yahoo! News: "An Iliad, a new solo-actor work co-created by Tony Award-winning performer Denis O'Hare and director Lisa Peterson, begins its world-premiere engagement at the Seattle Repertory Theatre April 9.
O'Hare had previously been announced to appear in the work. He is set to star in the production for New Jersey's McCarter Theatre in October. In Seattle, local actor Hans Altwies (The Seafarer, The Three Musketeers) inhabits the 90-minute work that will run through May 16."

Oooh, this sounds awesome! I'm a bit bias because I'm a sucker for greek mythology, but I think a modern retelling of this would be fairly cool, just because it really is the definition of a good story. Also, so many of Homer's themes are so obviously relevant to every generation, and never really gets outdated. If they adapt it to a modern setting or something similar, it should be great. I'm a bit weirded out by the fact that it's a one-person show, just because I think the human relationships and interactions of the Iliad are what make it so interesting...it should be a very odd adaptation, and I'm not sure how it'll go over, but hopefully it'll be good.
