Estelle Parsons brings wit, energy to 'August: Osage County'

Post Gazette: "When Estelle Parsons joined the cast of 'August: Osage County' during its Broadway run, she followed Tony Award winner Deanna Dunagan as Violet, the pill-popping, toxic matriarch of the Weston family."

I never saw the original Tony award player for this role, but seeing Ms. Parsons twice on Broadway in thsi role is just not enough, so I am seeing her again this sunday and I can't wait. This show- especially for her character is so damn demanding that she climbs enough stairs a week to go to the top of the empire state building and back down. And she is 82?!? This woman has talent and strength that goes beyond many actors I have ever seen. I saw this show the first time with my father and he hated it. She reminded him of the dark side of his mother. The great thing is she reminded me of my mother. She embodies that which is all mothers and she does it with perfection. Can't wait till sunday!
