It is sad how often this is happening across the country during this recession. In Nevada, there was a bill this previous year to approve a tax credit for filmmakers, and it was one of the first on the chopping block when the budget was cut. Arizona has been getting a lot of films because they have a large tax incentive. And there's even talk in CALIFORNIA of cutting tax breaks for filmmakers because of the budget crisis. Its a small wonder that all of these TV shows and films are moving to Canada in such large numbers! But in today's industry, it is easier to get a film job in Toronto or Vancouver than LA.
I agree with Brian. North Carolina is a big filmmaking state, but is another victim of the recession. It just seems as if studios are exporting films now to different countries because of tax breaks, just as companies export work to other countries because of wages.
