These shoes are absolutely amazing! I'm not sure I agree with it being art, however, its still very impressive. As a freshman at CMU, I realize that the traditional Susan Tsu shoe project is coming up. Its nice to see that other people do it as well! I like the idea of recycling and reusing materials as much as we can, and although I realize that this show is not wearable, it still gives one the idea of working with materials that already have been used for something else rather than taking new ones.

That's a very cool project, and very appropriate in terms of Susan Tsu's shoe project. I think it's awesome that someone would come up with the idea to put together a shoe completely out of circuit board. It's actually kind of similar to what two of the freshman are doing in the main staircase in Purnell, making a circuit board for the string project. I would consider this art, just in a very different medium, and now I'm more excited for what the Susan Tsu shoe project will bring.

I think that this is a very interesting approach to using technology as art. Instead of using technological methods as an advancement of art, it's using the components of technology itself. I also think the combination of circuits and something associated with sports is interesting, because it is a juxtaposition of things traditionally opposite. As for the string project that Brian and I did on the window in Purnell, I wouldn't call it similar in any way, except for the fact that both things have a circuit board somewhat involved. This shoe uses it as a very physical material, whereas we used it for its use of line variation.

this is the cools thing i have seen for a long time. i would have never have thought of this. this is the type of thing we might see in a few years but it will take a lot of work to get to the point that this show is to. but this remides me of the shoes projects that i saw last year when i visited. it seems like the they coped the shoe project hear at cmu drama.

I believe that this particular piece is very interesting in the way it was addressed. As stated above, this particular piece of art resembles that of Susan Tsu's shoe project. While some people may not call this art because it is simply a recreation of something already in exsistant, only using different materials, but isn't that exactly what art is? I also find that the craftsmanship found within the piece is impressive. The skill it takes to constuct such a detailed and unique piece is inspiring.

I was so pleased to see this piece of art work. It of course reminded me of the Shoe project we all had to do freshman year, specifically of Andrew's shoe and this made me think back at all the projects that we did and how a lot of the concepts we explored have come up again, much like this shoe. Sometimes it was hard to appreciate nights with straws, millions of adhesives, plastics, beads, fabrics, furs, glass and all kinds of other random materials, but I know it helped us to, like this artist, look at all kinds of materials and objects with a fresh perspective. We are part of a place that is constantly reminding us that function does not have to determine form, we can make anything into whatever we want.
