ARTINFO.com: "Amid the many pressures couples face in planning an unforgettable wedding, here’s one that simply can’t fall by the wayside: Making sure the flowers complement that original Diego Rivera fresco.
Such is the kind of dilemma confronting the affianced who plan to promise forever in the courtyard of the Detroit Institute of Arts, which held its first wedding ceremony this summer."

I really liked this article for a number of reasons. First of all, I love the idea of having a wedding in a less traditional location. SO many people go to a hotel, or a beach and while its still lovely, sometimes its nice to have that special something people remember. I had my party for my bat mitzvah at the Charles River Museum of Industry, in Boston, which used to be an old textile mill. They have lots of cool machinery around and clocks from the old watch factory and just lots of cool stuff. While we had the dancing in a function hall, they let us do h'or devours and stuff out in the main museum room. It was really cool, and very memorable. some of my cousins even took pictures "driving" an old fire engine. I understand the difference between machinery and art, that its much easier to damage the art, but is it really a different risk than having people in the museum normally? I assume that people drink as they walk around (whether or not they are supposed to) and anyone can be jostled. I think the precautions are good, as long as the couple doesn't feel like their guests are being treated like 4th graders on a field trip.
When i first started to read this it was riley cool but then i got to how much it coast to rent out the space and then i was like that will never happen for me. but i would fined it extreme cool getting marred in or have a reception in an art museum. but if i was the museum i would be so aired of thing getting damage but it seems like they hire more people to keep the airit safe form the gets. i would think that it would be an amazing experience being marred in. i think that every women would like to be marred there and that would be there dream.
