Facebook fans do worse in exams

Times Online: "FACEBOOK users may feel socially successful in cyberspace but they are more likely to perform poorly in exams, according to new research into the academic impact of the social networking website.
The majority of students who use Facebook every day are underachieving by as much as an entire grade compared with those who shun the site."

If someone wants to procrastinate, they will. The fact that facebook now exists as a tool for that is convenient, but there are many other forms of procrastination even without facebook. This article implies that all the time a person spends on facebook is taken directly from their study time, when it could just be that a person has studied exactly as much as they planned to in a day, and been on facebook during break times.
