Backstage: "The crisis on Wall Street is plaguing Sesame Street. Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit producer of Sesame Street and other kids' programs, is cutting about one-fifth of its work force because of the economic downturn."
wow. 1/5 of their work force is a LOT. I know that the economy has changed a lot and is forcing this all, but its such a huge dichotomy as to what the CEO was talking about in September when he came to talk. then, he spoke of all the new initiatives etc. that were being worked on. I'm sure many of these programs by ssw are going to suffer. It makes me sad that such a good, helpful global organization has to cut back, which in the end, is really just going to hurt lots of kids.
