From Kennywood to Adventureland

The Tartan Online: "Last Tuesday evening, Carnegie Mellon students piled into McConomy Auditorium for a prescreening of the new film Adventureland. A dramedy in the style of Superbad and other Judd Apatow movies, the film centers around 22-year-old James Brennan (Jesse Eisenberg) and his less-than-ideal summer job working in the Adventureland theme park."

I didn't know that Adventureland was filmed in Pittsburgh or written by a CMU alum. That's pretty interesting. What's scary is that the entire beginning of this article basically tells us that although we're here getting ready for the world, we're still not going to be ready for it. I find that uplifting.

What confuses me is why the name Adventureland was kept even after it was moved to Kemmywood. I get that Adventureland has that kinda generic theme park name feel to it, but couldn't they have gotten that from a made up name as well? I wonder how many issues there were avoiding the name Kennywood while filming there.

I'm pretty excited to see this. I didn't understand why people kept wanting to see it so badly, but now I kinda wanna see it. I also think that its kinda amusing that they needed an older rustier look so they went to Kennywood.
