While this may seem like a pretty boring article, it is really interesting to see how much history is behind everything we do in the theater. I have heard many of these hypotheses before in addition to some other ones. It is always cool to see how steeped in history this profession is. We have many superstitions and many quirky rituals and terms like "break a leg" amongst others. It is important to remember those who came before you and how much of an impact they had on the profession.
