Quebec's AQTIS, IATSE ready to sign deal
Playback: "A written agreement should be in place between Quebec's AQTIS and IATSE by Christmas, according to Quebec film commissioner Hans Fraikin, who says the former rivals are now getting along 'famously.' This time last year, Fraikin was working to mend a nasty labor squabble between the sparring technical unions."

yay! see! It can be done! With all of the negative, or depressing talks about unions and their situations here, its nice to read something more positive. I found it interesting that they brought up how the U.S. elections would affect them, with a possible rise in the value of the dollar to theirs.
I've always wanted to know the politics between Quebec and U.S. theater companies, especially for U.S. tours constantly trekking through there. I never realized how the election was such an important item too look at with theater politics, but I guess when you are working with another country it means just as much everything.
