Equity Signs 3-Year Deal With ANTC Groups

Backstage: "Actors' Equity Association signed a new three-year contract with New York's Alliance of Non-Profit Theatre Companies (ANTC) that increase actors' salaries by a total of 10 percent over the life of the agreement, the union announced Friday."

Well... it sounds like there was no strikes, picket lines, or lockouts so this deal stands out from some of the others made as of late. Actually, it sounds like a typical adjustment in pay rate to compensate for inflation and price of living. In addition to the wages, I can strongly appreciate any improvements in health care coverage. From what I understand though, negotiations with Actor's Equity are a lot easier than ones with IATSE... so this serves as little surprise and a score for the union.
