This certainly seems like their taking things to a new level. I'm sure this is not the first contest to be used as a casting call, and I'm sure its not the first time that reality TV has acted as advertising for anothr production, but it definitely feels like a new way to generate publicity for a broadway level show. And somehow, just feels a bit too glitzy and a touch tacky. Even if it is a totally legitimate casting call. I wonder how London's version of Equity feels about this? Or for that matter, what the US version thinks.
it seems like they are making a problem out of nothing. so what if the audition was a reality show. she got the part and negotiated her contract to work for her. and as they said, its not the first time an actress has done that.
