Alternative Stand-Up Comedy Sprouts in Pittsburgh

Backstage: "'Club Café is the perfect venue for comedy,' says Gab Bonesso, a 27-year-old comic who has now performed in, by her count, hundreds of shows in nontraditional spaces. Located in Pittsburgh's South Side, Club Café is famous locally for live music."

I thought stand up died with the 90's.... but whatever. What I liked about theis article is the loyalty to Pittsburgh. I haave really grown to love this city, and I would love to work here. If there is a large stand- up boom in this area... cool. Like the article stated, comedy is easy to produce.

there are still many places like this and more showing up with the rediscovery of stand up comedy. From the tourgasim to other major network standup shows, there is certainly more interest in comedy these days. Providing a live venue specifically for the touring comic is a solid business choice. Many bars and night clubs offer this on certain nights of the week, but being known for comedy is a reputation that takes a while to cultivate...there is a lot of bad comedy out there...
