I really wanted to see this....It sounded so good in the papers...but now that I read a review, I can see exactly what the reporter is talking about. I find it very hard to stay engaged in "a play" when it is simply recounting a memory. I think that it could be very theatrical using one actor, but I don't think its enough to make it "a play." Sure the content is strange and miraculous, but it can easily be taken as one person telling a story from 30 points of view. Which is what I think the reporter is talking about. I agree that storytelling is not "a play," but that it is part of producting a play. To make this into theater, there has to be something else that makes it theatrical besides one actor playing many roles. Perhaps it could be less realistic? Perhaps the set could be unidentifiable? Perhaps the lighting could be abstract? Who knows...All I'm saying is that from what this reporter says, this "play" is simply just telling a "story." And after reading the review, I can see why.
