"With its budget and sphere of influence . . . it could have spawned many other theaters" You have to wonder what's happened to all the money that should be going towards the theatre? I have a feeling that there is more to this story than what the public is hearing. I made a few phone calls to my theatre connections in Miami, but I can't seem to find out the true story. Being from Miami, I have grown up around Coconut Grove Playhouse, I have attended numerous plays there and attended summer camps and acting classes there. It would be a real shame if the theatre were to close down. However, knowing how strong the artistic community is in Miami, I would hope that something will be done to keep this theatre up and running, its one of the few big regional theatres in Miami and it would be a shame to lose it.
