Actors Fund NY Office Here to Help Those Affected by Sandy

The Actors Fund Blog: New Yorkers are famously resilient, despite even the most difficult challenges. They always bounce back. People in entertainment and performing arts are just as tough. We all know it takes guts to survive the ups and downs of this business.

This is a really nice concept. Looking at photos from Sandy you can tell that the city is in a real state of disrapear and not everyone an afford to fix what's been damaged. It great that actors have a community that they can go to for support. It would be intersting to see what exactly they are doing to help people other then showing people where to access medical care. Also I wonder how they were affected by the storm. It would be quite a stretch to believe that they got away without a scratch, they likely just bounced back quick (they did admit that their phones went out at times). Durring hard times people need each other more then anything else, that what makes the funds push to get the word out that they're there to help people is all the more important.

I have been really happy to see all the different groups who have been pledging support to the victims of hurricane Sandy. At the CMU Student Government Executive meeting, we were discussing all the various student groups at CMU who were helping with the efforts, and the list was extensive. When disasters occur, it seems society comes together to help those less fortunate. My parents are still without heat, and my mom continues to use the neighbors house to shower. Sandy has lasting impact, and I am glad NYC's entertainment professionals are united in helping one another recover during this turbulent time.

Sandy was a really big problem for New York, and it's great to see actors pitching in. Not everyone can afford the necessary repairs, and even if they can, it may not happen as soon as they need it. I really don't know what to say other than that this is an amazing thing, and I am glad to seem people in the art community pitching in.
