10 More Insanely Awesome Inspirational Manifestos

lifehack.org: There’s nothing like a manifesto that gets the blood pumping, the ideas flowing and a person moving. I offered up several insanely awesome inspirational manifestos not too long ago, and I’ve scoured the Internet looking for more of them that can inspire people with different lifestyles and “workstyles” that they can relate to. Whether you’re a creative, an entrepreneur, an artist, a writer, or simply want to live a better life , here are 10 more insanely awesome inspirational manifestos for you to ponder…and perhaps live by

I think that these are all good sentiments. But frankly they kind of all say the same thing. Simplify your work, keep doing work even if it is bad, and don't get caught up in judging or stopping yourself. I personally think that Ira Glass says it the best, but he is just my personal hero so I am a bit biased. Being creative is hard and being an artist is a scary thing to do. I think that people give themselves a lot of pep talks or "manifestos" to get through it. And while all these manifestos are good and make sense they are a little bit too basic to actually apply to real life. Life gets hard and you are going to give up and then they hopefully you are going to move on. Or maybe life will just be blissfully easy and creativity will come naturally and you won't need manifestos.

Zoe is right in saying that these are a tad redundant - because they are. She is also correct in the sense that we tell these things to ourselves to power through the difficulty of the nature of what we do. The reality is though, we all love what we do - or we wouldn't be here. You do not accidentally get to this point in life: at Carnegie Mellon University.. being trained by the very best in our field to lead the next wave of innovation in the creative world. The passion is inside all of us - somewhere underneath all of the hand drafting’s, failed autoCAD mastery exams, shoe projects, and crew calls. 99% of the time we sit in our studio and are driven by sheer passion and love for the art to fine tune, perfect, and muscle out our various projects. For the 1% of the time where we just need a little push to get going - these all serve perfectly. Even if its stupid words on a stupid poster – these manifestos are simply a tool for us to shovel out the passion and drive that we know is there.
