Emmy Nominations

Carnegie Mellon University: While many will be tuning into the 63rd Primetime Emmy awards live this weekend, two Carnegie Mellon University alumni are already celebrating their Emmy victories.
Douglas Huszti (A'94) won an Emmy for art direction for "Boardwalk Empire," and Robert Dickinson (H'05) won for lighting design for the "53rd Annual Grammy Awards."

Congratulations to all the CMU alums that have won Emmy awards. It's great to see alums that are designers winning awards and not just actors.

It is so great to see that DPs (and other drama students) are expanding outside of theatre. Every year people talk about "The Broadway Dream" or "Making New Art Forms" so as someone who desires neither of those two things, it is refreshing to see that CMU has sent alumni to other sectors of the entertainment business and proven themselves there as well. (If any of you alumni who just won Emmys are on the green page and need an intern, you let me know.)
