I had no idea Jerry Springer could sing? He should have stared in his musical instead of Chicago. Hopefully he does well as Billy Flynn in the musical. For the audience that gets to see this version it should be interesting.

I never thought of Jerry Spring as an actor, let alone a singer of any kinda. I honnestly wonder on some levels how he got this part, I will admit that it is somewhat perfect for him on a lot of levels, but still. My first reaction was that this was like ultimate type casting. My second was that this was a case of fame replacing actual talent, which if this is the case worries me.

I imagine Jerry's a great actor, having to act serious with some of the people he sees on his show. I mean really, some of those problems people are having are quite unreal.

Seriously though, I'm interested to see how this one goes. I said before that any help B'Way can get, the better, but I wonder if this will have an inverse effect after people start reviewing his performance (that is, assuming it's bad). I'm sure it'll have a positive response in the beginning, though. This should be interesting.....

Wow, I cannot say that I agree to there being a Jerry Springer Opera, but we'll see how that turns out. It will be interesting to see how he does in his performance, though. Also, I didn't know he was born in a London subway station during WWII, that's a pretty interesting fact.

While almost all actors have that iconic role that they will be envisioned as no matter what they do...I feel it is going to be particularly difficult for the audience to shake the image of Jerry Springer from his show when he steps onto the stage as billy Flynn. Perhaps this is why the producers choose to put him in the London production where presumably he is less well known, than in a US tour where he would be instantly recognized.

I agree with Andrew in that Jerry Springer has to have some level of acting ability in order to host some of the ridiculous episodes that he does. I don't know how good of an idea it is to have him act in a show right after his own show just finished running there, but perhaps it will help to draw more attention.

All I have to say is "Jerry! Jerry!". Truly, if the man can sing, put him on stage. We already know his a great actor ( it takes a lot to keep a straight face when there are such antics on stage) and, to be frank, in these financial times he is a big name which could bring in big attention and thus, money for the show. Anything to keep Broadway going...

o_O I had no idea he was from London, much less he could sing. Wow, strange world. I wonder if he has any actual talent.

Actually, now that I think about it, Flynn is somewhat of a Jerry Springer-type character to begin with.
