I'm really excited to start being a part of these shows, as well as an audience member. I've heard so much already about 'The Other Shore,' and I'm very intrigued by the "abstract" qualities that everyone keeps saying are a part of it. I'm looking forward to this year's season, and I hope it will be a great experience.
The real interesting gem of information in this article was the fact that the London Cuckolds is getting cast with teachers in some of the main roles. Maybe everyone else already knew this, but it comes a shock to me, and no doubt to some of the senior male actors, who are being denied these roles. However, given the context of the play it seems like that the casting of older men would make sense.
I am really excited to see "The Other Shore" both because of its eastern origins and because of the new/different production process. I find myself wondering if the process will have any impact on the show. The simplicity of the set and lighting design intrigue me and, though I have never read the show, I believe that it will be an interesting experience.
By the way, I think the idea of having the audience sit on the stage is brilliant. It will be interesting to see if they become a distraction or not.
