Broadway's Chicago Will Offer "Talkback Tuesdays" Beginning Sept. 23

It’s interesting that Chicago will start conducing talkbacks at this stage through its run. I imagine that is a way for the show to bring back audiences to experience a whole different aspect of the show that they can't get every show. I have never heard of a Broadway show doing talkbacks especially at this stage. It would be interesting if other Broadway shows followed this example to give theatre audiences a more interactive experience. People would be more compelled to more shows.

I agree with Kelli in that this is a bizarre show to choose to do talkbacks for. The show has been running for 10 years, and that is only the revival. I suppose that the talkback is more for people who are interested in learning how theatre works, and less for critiques of the show. I don't really see anything changing at this point in the run of the show. This idea would work a lot better in some of the more intimate theatres, like the Helen Hayes (where Xanadu is playing), or shows that are newer.
