Mob Museum Debuts Phase One of Major Renovation
InPark Magazine: On February 14, The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, debuted its major first-floor renovation, which includes a brand-new exhibition space called Organized Crime Today, focusing on the modernization and evolution of organized crime in the present day. Two new experiential spaces include the Use of Force Training Experience and Crime Lab, which join the Museum’s already robust experiential platform, focusing on methods employed by law enforcement to apprehend and prosecute criminals and their organizations.

Before this article, I had never heard of this museum. The two interactive exhibits, the Force Training experience and the Crime Lab seem like a very interesting way to attract and engage viewers. I wonder what age the museum is targeting, as it is not specified in the article. Though these topics are extremely important, the way that the exhibits are structured, do not make it sound as though they are for young children. It also sounds as if the exhibits are a real life versions of crime TV shows, especially the aspects of forensic science. I think it's interesting that the museum is international, and will talk about mob related in other countries. However, I would be cautious of the framing to make sure the the United States is accurately represented and the presentation of our country is not skewed. Overall, these exhibits sound exciting and I look forward to hearing what stage 2 of the renovations are.
